The day after my water polo tournament I had been flying back home to Serbia. The day after I flew home I realized that the NBA season had been over, and that meant my favorite player was also back home. The next day after I had knew he was back home that was the only thing on my mind to meet Nikola Jokic. Later that night it was the biggest festival in our city and there I was hoping to meet him, but then I had found out that he was not coming so I had very little hopes on meeting him. So, then a couple weeks later before I was supposed to leave my mom told me to go grocery shopping for everyone so I had went. I went to the most popular grocery store and I suddenly had happened to see Nikola. That same day I was wearing his jersey and I had gotten my jersey signed.
Rad Reading – March
This month I read who is Michael Jordan by Kristen Anderson. This book is about Michael Jordans his childhood in North Carolina to becoming one of the greatest basketball players of all time. It talks about all of the things he faced, and his ability to handle stuff off the court. The book also talks about his career at the University of North Carolina and in the NBA at the Chicago Bulls. All throughout his career in basketball he shows his talent, dedication to playing basketball, and the impact he had on basketball all throughout his career.
I liked this book because it was about one of the greatest basketball players of all time and I really enjoyed it. So, if you enjoy watching basketball I recommend reading this book.
Michael Jordan was my favorite and only character in this book. This is because “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. This shows that Michael would take the shot and if he would miss he would. take the blame for it and he will move on.
One of the favorite quotes from this book is “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.” This quote is meaningful because it shows that everyone can fail at. something but you will always have to try at something.
Three People For Dinner
There are so many people I would want to invite to dinner, but these are my top three: Nikola Jokic, Novak Djokovic and Dusan Mandic. First I would want to invite Nikola Jokic because he is a 3 time MVP and he is playing the best basketball in his career. I want to invite Nikola because he is from the same place I am from Serbia and we can both speak the same language. My second person I would like to invite is Novak Djokovic because he is the best tennis player to ever play the sport in my opinion, and he is also Serbian and I could also understand the language he is speaking. Novak also has the most trophies in the history of the sport. My last and final person I would invite to this dinner is Dusan Mandic. He won MVP this year in Water polo this year. Dusan is one of the best shooters in the world and this year him and Serbia completed a three peat in Water polo. With all three of my famous people I could understand and speak the same language as them.
Dream Job
My dream job would be a surfer. Surfing gives you the feeling of relaxation and being free. Everyday you can explore different beaches and waves. My second reason is you get to spend time outdoors. My last and final reason is the surfing community. You get to spend time riding. waves and talking to other people while surfing.
Invisible For Twenty Four Hours
I am invisible! I turned invisible when I was surfing and caught the best wave of my life. While I am invisible I want to go snowboarding on the biggest mountain in the world. I want to do this so I can sneak in so I don’t have to pay and I want to get the best ride of my life on it. Another thing I want to do is to swim all the way across an ocean. I want to do this because I can’t normally do it when I am invisible because a shark would injure me. The last thing I would want to do is to go to every NBA game so I can watch the Denver Nuggets play every game. I want to do this so I can meet Nikola Jokic.
Rad – Reading February
This month I read The Forgotten 500 by Gregory A. Freeman. This book is about the true story of a secret rescue mission during World War II. It is about a group of American airmen who were shot down over Yugoslavia and the Serbian villagers helped hide them from the Nazis.
I liked this book because it shows courage and teamwork to pull of this mission. This author shows great skills in adding detail and great onomatopoeia
My favorite character is Major George Vujnovich. My favorite character trait from him is beinnng organized this is because he organized the mission. His helpfulness, resourcefulness, and leaders were important to the missions. Vujnovich’s cordinated every step inn the mission. “Major George Vujnovich had organized the whole mission.”
My favorite quote in this book is ” These were men who had been shot down, who had been through hell, and who were now being given a second chance at life.” This is my favorite quote because it shows the American airmen and the amazing efforts put in to save them. It shows the bravery and the confidence to overcome challenges.
Life on an Abandoned Island
It’s another day in paradise on my abandoned island. I was very lucky to survive my plane crash when I was going to Brazil. I ended up washing up on a abandoned island with my surfboard. I was very lucky when I was touring the island there was already a pre- built cave, so I didn’t have to spend my day building a cave. Everyday my daily routine would be to wake up and go catch food out in the ocean. Next, I would spend my whole day surfing and catching big waves. I would spend all of my days like this until getting rescued. The island is a big huge island with crystal clear waters all around the island and the island has a big cave.
Rad Reading- January
This month I read Allies by Alan Gratz.Allies” by Alan Gratz is a historical fiction novel D-Day, of young Allied soldiers from different countries, including American teenager Dee Carpenter, French-Algerian girl Samira Zidane, and Canadian paratrooper James McKay, they look around the madness of the invasion, showing the different sides and experiences of those fighting against Nazi forces. These six teenage character of “D-Day”—June 6, 1944. The book’s main character is Dee Carpenter, an American soldier from Philadelphia. Dee is keeping a secret from his friend soldiers. He was born in Germany and is still a German citizen. Dee’s parents brought him to America after the Nazis took his uncle. Dee is scared about his family and worries what his friends will think about him if they discover he’s German.
I recommend reading this book especially if you like reading about World War II. This book is full of action. In this book you can imagine every detail and picture everything in your head. For example, Alan Gratz uses onomatopoeia while describing the attack.
My favorite character from this book is Dee, this is because he learns how to keep his secrets and he is a very intresting character that is funny and really good at lying.
“We’d stood up to Hitler and the Nazis with the rest of the Allies,”. This is my favorite quote because it really inspires team work and how powerful this attack really was.
Surfing Banzai Pipline
One morning I was in Hawaii in Honolulu at Waikiki Beach. Me and my family had rented a car in the morning so we could got to the north shore. I had brought my surf board back from home so I could surf at one of the best and scariest places in the world. It had taken an hour to get to the beach and I was waxing my board and I had to put on a helmet so nothing would happen if I got slammed into the reef. Then it was finally time for me too run in, the waves. The waves weren’t that big today being about 8-12 ft. The first couple of waves I caught weren’t that good and all of them turned into white wash. After, like 30 minutes I had caught 5 barrels and they were the best rides of my life. On my last wave going to shore I had gotten slammed into the reef and it was pretty bad scratches.
Dumbledore Quote
One of my favorite quotes from Dumbledore is, “ Happiness can be found even in raw darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.” This quote means to me because I always have the choice to push the struggle to get to a place where I can feel happy.
